“I am especially proud of this production as it pays homage to Colorado Ballet’s founders, the late Lillian Covillo and Freidann Parker,” said Colorado Ballet Artistic Director Gil Boggs. “These two women had the courage and dream to imagine world-class dance in Denver, and for that we owe them so much. This production is a testament to the vision of Lillian and Freidann and demonstrates the successes of female leaders and artists in ballet.”

Choreographers Emery LeCrone, Jodie Gates and Amy Seiwert will premiere their works in this production, which honors Colorado Ballet’s founders, Lillian Covillo and Freidann Parker.

At 24, LeCrone uses her choreography on dancers in the same way a playwright would on actors.  She encourages them to understand both the structure and context of her pieces.  For more than a decade, Gates has used her role as a choreographer to help women move beyond traditional roles.  Seiwert, a former recipient of Dance Magazine’s prestigious “Top 25 to Watch,” made her choreographic debut with Colorado Ballet in 2009 with the world premiere of her ballet, Things Left Unsaid.
