Colorado Ballet Academy Summer Intensive Program Auditions

What:   The Colorado Ballet Academy offers a four-week intensive dance program for intermediate to advanced level classical ballet dancers from June 18 to July 14, 2012.  Auditions will take place in February 2012.

Daily classes typically run from 10 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday through Friday and include ballet, jazz, modern and variations. Students will present an in-studio performance on the final day of the program.

Who:  Admission to the Summer Intensive Program is by audition only.  Students ages 11 and up will participate in approximately eight hours of dancing each day.  Ladies must have completed at least one year of concentrated pointe training. 

Faculty includes Gil Boggs, Colorado Ballet Artistic Director; Sandra Brown, Colorado Ballet Mistress; Igor Vassine, Colorado Ballet principal dancer for more than 17 seasons; Maria Mosina, Colorado Ballet principal dancer; and the artistic faculty of Colorado Ballet and the Academy.

When: Sunday, February 5, 2012
Registration: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Audition: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Cost:  The audition fee is $30.

For students accepted into the program, the tuition is $1,500 before March 10 and $1,600 after March 10.  Student housing is also available for participants of all ages at Campus Village Apartments on the Auraria Campus.  Housing, meals, chaperone costs and public transportation will cost $2,200.

DVD/Video: Students who are unable to attend the audition may mail an application, resume (optional), dance photo, DVD and $30 audition fee to Phoebe Coleman at Colorado Ballet.  The deadline for high-quality DVD/Video auditions is February 1, 2012.
