(Ages 9+ by placement) In Ballet Level 3, additional attention is paid to the proper extension of the legs and shape of the feet. Students will see an increase in difficulty in barre and center work as they develop movement sequences, port de bras, balance, musicality and imaginative artistry. Students begin focusing on repetition and retention, and pre-pointe work for girls is introduced.
Young men in Ballet Level 3 receive specialized training for aspiring young male ballet dancers. This class is tailored to the unique needs of men’s ballet technique. Young men in this level continue to work on the fundamentals of ballet and emphasize clarity in positions, core and back strength as they learn the foundations for men’s virtuosic technique. Young men in Level 3, first year are strongly recommended to register for Level 3A. Young men in Level 3, second year are strongly recommended to register for Level 3D so they are all in class together.
Ballet Level 3 students are eligible for participation in Colorado Ballet Academy’s Youth America Grand Prix and Denver Ballet Guild programs.
