Emily Speed is from Argyle, TX and graduated from Marina Almayeva School of Ballet. She has qualified and competed in Varna International Ballet Competition,
Jackson IBC and YAGP Finals as well as being a World Ballet Competition Finalist and winning First Place in the YAGP regionals. This is Emily’s 5th season
with Colorado Ballet during which time she has danced numerous roles including Clara and Dew Drop in The Nutcracker, Little Sister in Pillar of Fire,
Red Couple in Twayla Tharp’s Brief Fling, Little Russian’s in Balanchine’s Serenade, Pink Couple in Clark Tippet’s Bruch Violin Concerto, Pas de Trios and
Cygnets in Swan Lake, Jiri Kylian’s Petite Mort and many more. Ms. Speed began teaching for Ms. Almayeva and has since taught all over the country as
well as being invited as a guest teacher in several Summer Intensives. Emily currently teaches throughout Denver and is looking forward to working
with the Colorado Ballet Academy students this year.
