Jeanette Trujillo-Lucero has been heralded as a classical dancer who belongs to the first rank of artists of Spanish and of Mexican dance. Ms. Trujillo-Lucero is a native of Denver and one of the most recognized dancers in our community. She is the founding resource and the vision for the beautiful Hispanic presentations of the Fiesta Colorado Dance Company.
Jeanette has studied dance through the University of Colorado, Loretto Heights College and Red Rocks Community College. She has privately studied with Mexican dance maestros: Agustine de Razo and Raul Valdez from the Ballet Folklorico de Mexico and has studied Spanish dance with honored dance masters: Lucille Campa, Pablo Rodarte, Vicente Romero and many others.
Jeanette is recognized for her 40 years of outstanding achievement in dance performance in Denver. Her work is often captured in the local media as one of Colorado’s Special People. She was a recipient of the Mayor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts in 1997 and 2006. She was awarded as: "A Living Legend of Dance in Colorado" by the Carson- Brierly Dance Library in 2008. In 2010 she received the Hispanic Leadership Award by the Colorado Rockies Organization was honored as an Outstanding Woman of Jefferson County. She is also acknowledged in the Pulitzer Prized Nominated book entitled,"Hispanic Culture in the Southwest" by Dr. Arthur L Campa.
