Can I purchase group tickets for the 2020/2021 Season?

Due to local restrictions on gathering size, group sales are on hold until further notice. Updates will be communicated as we continue to plan for the upcoming season. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Group Sales Manager Molly Epstein at molly.epstein@coloradoballet.org.

When will the ballet open for performances at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House?

Colorado Ballet’s top priority is the safety of our patrons, dancers, orchestra and staff. We are diligently monitoring the latest developments in the COVID-19 pandemic as we continue to assess the best course of action to ensure everyone’s safety. Because safety is our priority, we are considering all possible options and factors that will determine when performances will resume and what returning to live performances will look like.

Currently, Colorado Ballet is working collaboratively with the City of Denver and must wait for them to determine when it will be safe to reopen the Performing Arts Complex and resume presenting live performances. Once the City of Denver establishes a reopening plan and target date, Colorado Ballet will receive more specific information regarding how Arts and Venues will implement the CDC’s guidelines at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House during public gatherings and performances. Also at that time, Colorado Ballet will announce further details for planned upcoming ballet performances at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House.


When will the dancers resume rehearsing and performing?

In order for the dancers to prepare for a production, they need eight weeks of rehearsals beforehand. Another factor that may impact the timing of Colorado Ballet’s return to the Ellie Caulkins Opera House includes assessing when it will be safe for the dancers to resume rehearsals at Colorado Ballet’s studios. Because they need sufficient time to prepare for each production, the timing of when they can resume rehearsing may also impact the timing of when we can return to presenting live performances. We are also currently assessing new standard operating procedures to ensure the dancers' safety in our rehearsal studios.


How will Colorado Ballet Implement Social Distancing?

It is clear that social distancing is of the utmost importance in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Currently, knowing exactly what types of social distancing implementation will be possible at the theater remains to be determined. The City of Denver and Colorado Ballet are working to determine if reopening with adequate social distancing will be possible, or if reopening will need to be postponed until a safe alternative becomes achievable.


Will Colorado Ballet present its 2020/2021 season?

Please rest assured that Colorado Ballet is doing everything within its power to ensure a safe and healthy return to presenting live ballet performances for our 60th Anniversary Season. More announcements will be forthcoming as the situation evolves over the summer and we anticipate having additional information to release by the end of June. We will continue to ensure that all of our patrons are updated with the most current information. Thank you for your continued patience and support.


What will happen to my subscription/season ticket purchase if the season is cancelled or postponed?

If a performance is postponed, your tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled performance date. If a performance is cancelled you will have one of four ticketing options:

  • 1) Receive an on-account credit that can be applied towards tickets for a performance in the 2020/2021 or 2021/2022 season. This credit can be used for subscriptions or single tickets when purchased by phone. The credit will be good until May 31, 2022 for the value of the tickets, if purchased through Colorado Ballet.
  • 2) Turn your ticket(s) purchase into a donation to enable Colorado Ballet continue offering ballet experiences to patrons through virtual experiences, and to enable Colorado Ballet to return to live performances once it is safe to resume. All ticket donations are fully tax-deductible. Thank you for your support!
  • 3) Exchange your ticket(s) for a gift certificate for a future performance. Gift Certificates can be used on-line and do not require calling the Box Office to redeem.
  • 4) Subscribers Only: If more than two productions in the 2020/2021 season are cancelled and you do not wish to redeem any of the options above, you can call Patrons Services to request a full refund for your original season ticket package purchase.
