Spring 2013 General Information Letter
The spring semester runs from January 7 - May 11, 2013. All classes are open for enrollment until filled. To register, please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to class to fill out a registration form in the Academy office. All online registrants must also fill out a registration form prior to the first class.Students may fully register for a 16-week course for $200 (a 10% discount), pay for single classes at $15 per class or purchase a 4-Class Punch Card for $57.
Punch Cards
Punch cards offer the flexibility to pick any four classes in any dance medium. Cards are good for up to four classes throughout the semester and can be used for any combination of our classes listed below. If you have purchased a punch card online, please stop by the Academy office to sign a registration form if you a new student and to receive your punch card.
Dress Code
Colorado Ballet Academy requires teens and adults to wear the appropriate footwear for each class (i.e. flat ballet slippers for ballet, jazz shoes for jazz and Broadway, barefoot for contemporary and modern, etc.). Many students will choose to wear leotards, tights, and warm-ups for class, however, they are not required. We ask that you wear something that will allow you to move easily and comfortably. Most students choose to dress in gym clothing, such as t-shirts, shorts, or yoga pants.
Various dance disciplines for teens and adults are offered in the Adult Open Program. Students determine their individual commitment to training. There is no prior experience is necessary in beginning level classes. Several weekday morning classes are conveniently scheduled simultaneously with Children's Program classes.

Description of new Pilates class at Central Academy - This is a multi-level mat class that focuses on core strengthening through a series of exercises that stretch and strengthen even your most difficult problem areas. Pilates is gentle on the joints and will leave you feeling energized not exhausted. Small equipment may be incorporated from time to time to challenge, enhance and/ or modify your workout. Please bring a Pilates style mat (yoga mats are not recommended as they do not provide the spine with enough cushion ).
Description of new Adult Back to Ballet Class with Sharon at Central Academy - Have you been missing that feeling of strength and grace you used to feel in ballet? Do you have prior dance experience, but are a little rusty in the joints? Or maybe you've been taking dance classes and are looking for a gentle, yet exhilarating class that will get you moving, but not make you feel like you have to keep up with the teenagers. If so, this class may be just for you. Designed for people with prior dance experience, and a basic understanding of the fundamental ballet vocabulary, "Back to Ballet" is an intermediate class that will provide a place for you to get moving and dancing, without worrying about being out of shape, forgetting how to pirouette, or jumping too vigorously. The goal is to feel that magical integration of music and flow, leave class feeling graceful and energized, rekindling your inner dancer!
