ABOUT "THE ELLIE"

Colorado Ballet's professional Company performs its season productions at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Please find directions, parking information and more about The Ellie Caulkins Opera House below.

The Ellie Caulkins Opera House, known simply as “The Ellie,” is a world-class acoustical hall designed in the lyric style, and encompasses four levels: the balcony, loge, mezzanine and orchestra.

This magnificent space is humidified and provides state-of-the-art technical support as well as acoustical excellence and clean sight lines. The Ellie is one of only three opera houses in the United States, one of nine world-wide, with seatback titling at every seat in the house.

PARKING

Please be aware that parking fills up quickly, so please plan enough time to find parking before the performance. Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of house management, but may be required to wait in the lobby until intermission.

Denver Performing Arts Complex Garage
The Arts Complex Garage is accessed from Arapahoe Street between 13th and 14th streets or underneath the Arts Complex on 13th Street between Arapahoe and Champa.

Accessible parking is located on Levels 3, 4 and 5 near the elevators and are signed and ramped. Patrons should take the elevator to Level 3 to enter the theatres.

Colorado Convention Center Garage
The Colorado Convention Center Garage is located on northbound Speer Boulevard at Champa and is connected to the Arts Complex by an easy, well-lit walkway along 13th Street.

Patrons should use the Z elevators on the Champa side to "Street Level." Then, cross Champa at the signal and follow the 13th Street sidewalk to the Arts Complex. Take the Parking Garage elevators to Level 3 to enter the theatres.

Additional parking options
Include self-parking at The Curtis Hotel, located directly across from the DCPA at 1405 Curtis Street (garage entrance on the left) and Towne Park valet parking at the Four Seasons Hotel 1111 14th street, the corner of 14th and Lawrence.

DIRECTIONS

The Ellie Caulkins Opera House is located in downtown Denver in the Denver Performing Arts Complex (DPAC) at the corner of 14th and Curtis Streets.

From I-25: Take I-25 towards downtown Denver. Exit Speer Boulevard South (Exit 212). Continue on Speer Boulevard and turn left on Arapahoe Street. The Denver Performing Arts Complex is located on your right, between 13th and 14th Streets. The main entrance to the DPAC parking garage is on Arapahoe Street.

SECURITY AT "THE ELLIE"

To provide for the safety of all guests and employees at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House and the entire Denver Performing Arts Complex, Denver Arts & Venues provides enhanced state-of-the-art touchless security screenings upon venue entry.

We encourage you to arrive 45 to 60 minutes prior to the start of your performance(s) to allow for enough time to be comfortably screened and seated.

Selelct items are prohibited on the premises. Please visit the Denver Arts Complex website for a complete and current list of permitted items.

Figaro Seatback Titling System

If you are attending a story ballet at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, you will have the opportunity to follow along with the story on the Figaro seatback titling system. Just push the button when the system cues you to and you will be able to read along and enjoy the performance at the same time. The Ellie is one of only three opera houses in the United States, one of nine world-wide, with seatback titling. Parents, if you bring young children, please be courteous to the patrons sitting around you and refrain from reading along with the Figaro descriptions. Please note, the Figaro systems are not available for seats in the back of the boxes.

About The Theatre

Colorado Ballet and Colorado Ballet Academy perform smaller productions our Black Box Theater at The Armstrong Center for Dance. The Black Box Theater features 135 seats for performances and up to 177 seats for lecture-style events. Please find directions and parking information below.

DIRECTIONS & PARKING

Colorado Ballet’s The Armstrong Center for Dance is located at the corner of Santa Fe Drive and 11th Avenue in Denver. Travel towards downtown Denver on I-25 and take the Santa Fe Drive exit (Exit 207B).

Go north on Santa Fe Drive until you reach 11th Avenue. Colorado Ballet’s parking lot, which can be entered from 11th street, is reserved for dancers and staff. Street parking is available on Santa Fe Drive and Kalamath Street between 10th and 11th Avenues.
